US President Donald Trump said the US is ready to continue attacks on Tehran if Iran does not agree to a peace deal. However, Trump is willing to wait a few more days to get the right answers, reports Reuters.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said the situation was on the brink and could escalate quickly.

"Believe me, if we don't get the right answers, it goes very quickly. We're all ready to go," he said at Joint Base Andrews.

When asked how long the US president would wait, Trump replied that it could take a few days, but could also end very quickly.

Iran's position

Tehran, for its part, warned the US against resuming attacks.

"If aggression against Iran is repeated, the promised regional war will extend beyond the region this time," a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said.

Iran has also established a new Persian Gulf Command to control traffic in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Trump reiterated his determination not to allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.

"We're in the final stages of Iran. We'll see what happens. Either have a deal or we're going to do some things that are a little bit nasty, but hopefully that won't happen," the White House chief told reporters earlier that day.

"Ideally I'd like to see few people killed, as opposed to a lot. We can do it either way," he noted.

Türkiye supported Trump

Donald Trump also spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who welcomed the continuation of the ceasefire between the US and Iran. Erdoğan told the US president that he believes a reasonable solution" is possible.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, in an audio message on social media, stated that the enemy's overt and covert actions indicate that the Americans are preparing new attacks.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian added that Tehran remains open to negotiations but emphasized in his post on X:

"Forcing Iran to surrender through coercion is nothing but an illusion."

Trump stated that negotiations with Iran are in their final stages but warned of possible military action in the absence of a deal.

Tehran does not agree to the main US demands, especially regarding ceasing the development of its nuclear program. In addition, Iran wants its assets unfrozen and to continue controlling the Strait of Hormuz.
