Trump wants Ukraine–Russia deal next week and to 'do big business'

US President Donald Trump expressed hope that Ukraine and Russia will reach a deal next week, according to his post on the social network Truth Social.
"Hopefully, Russia and Ukraine will make a deal this week," Trump wrote.
He also added that after that, both countries "will start to do big business with the United States of Amerika, which is thriving, and make a fortune."
Ukraine-Russia ceasefire
Yesterday, Vladimir Putin announced an "Easter ceasefire," which involves a halt to all hostilities. The ceasefire lasts 30 hours - from 6:00 PM on April 19 to 12:00 AM on April 21.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to this, warning of a mirror response in case of violations by Russia and offering to extend the full ceasefire for at least 30 more days. However, Moscow did not respond, except for one reaction from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson a few hours ago.
Meanwhile, while Ukraine sent proposals, the number of battles on the front line decreased but did not cease. The Russian army continued to violate Putin's ceasefire, and as of today, this has happened more than 2,000 times.
When discussing a full ceasefire, a US State Department representative stated in a letter to Reuters that the US would welcome an extension of the ceasefire. Later, in response, Maria Zakharova wrote that Ukraine allegedly violated the ceasefire.
Before that, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Russian media that Putin did not extend the "Easter ceasefire."
Despite Russia's violations on the battlefield, from the evening of April 19 until the publication of this article, no air alarms were sounded in any area of Ukraine. Since this ceasefire was achieved, Zelenskyy suggested extending it for at least 30 days. No response has been received yet.
