Trump wants Europe to provide more aid to Ukraine
Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, believes that Europe should increase its aid to Ukraine to match that of the United States, according to Time.
“I wouldn’t give (money to Ukraine) unless Europe starts equalizing. If Europe is not going to pay, why should we pay?" Trump said.
He believes that Russia's invasion of Ukraine has caused more harm to Europe than to the United States.
"They’re (Europeans) much more greatly affected. We (Ukraine and the USA) have an ocean in between us. They don’t,” he added.
Trump and Ukraine
The former American leader is known for his pro-Russian position on Ukraine.
In particular, he has stated several times that if he became President of the United States again, he could stop Vladimir Putin with just one phone call.
Trump believes that Putin can be stopped by forcing Ukraine to give him full control over Crimea and Donbas. However, his idea was criticized by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
