Trump urges Iranians to 'rise up and fight'

US President Donald Trump effectively called on Iranians to rise against the country's authorities. Amid the war with Iran, he asked when the people would rise and start fighting.
US President Donald Trump rejected claims that his current strategy is aimed at forcing Iran back to the negotiating table.
According to the US leader, reaching a possible agreement with Tehran is not his main priority at the moment.
"I couldn't care less if they sign a worthless, to them, agreement," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The US president said he prefers Washington's current position. In particular, he mentioned near-total control of the Strait of Hormuz and the impact of pressure on the Iranian economy.
"I like our position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing. They are just playing out the inevitable," he added.
Address to Iranians
Amid the ongoing confrontation, Trump also raised the possibility of Iran's population rising up against the authorities. The US president asked when Iranians would start fighting.
"When are the Iranian people going to rise up and fight?" Trump asked.
Trump had previously called on Iranians to seize government institutions after the bombing stops.
At the same time, he warned about the risks of such a scenario, stressing that unarmed protesters would be no match for armed supporters of the Iranian regime who crack down on demonstrators.
US forces struck Iran on September 1. The attacks came in response to Tehran's attempts to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz and US military personnel.
