Trump urges Hamas to act fast as Israel halts Gaza bombing

US President Donald Trump said he "appreciates" Israel's agreement to a temporary halt in its offensive in the Gaza Strip. He added that, in his view, "Hamas must move quickly."
"I appreciate that Israel has temporarily stopped the bombing in order to give the Hostage release and Peace Deal a chance to be completed. Hamas must move quickly, or else all bets will be off. I will not tolerate delay, which many think will happen," Trump said.
He also urged both sides to act fast and assured that they would be "treated fairly."
Notably, on October 3, Trump said he was giving Hamas a final chance to accept his peace plan for the Gaza Strip. He later claimed that Hamas was allegedly ready for lasting peace.
The US President called on Israel to immediately stop bombing Gaza to pave the way for a peace agreement. Following Trump's demand on the morning of October 4, the Israel Defense Forces were ordered to halt their advance on Gaza City.
