Trump talks Middle East peace, makes urgent appeal to Israel

Donald Trump claimed that Hamas is allegedly ready for a long-term peace and called on Israel to immediately halt airstrikes on Gaza to allow for the safe release of hostages and pave the way for peace talks in the Middle East, according to a post he made on Truth Social.
In his post, he expressed his belief that Hamas militants are ready for a long-term peace and urged Israel to stop bombing the Gaza Strip immediately to ensure a safe and swift release of hostages.
“Based on the Statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE. Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly! Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that,” Trump wrote.
According to him, negotiations have already begun on the details of potential agreements. He emphasized that the focus is not only on resolving the situation in Gaza but on the long-awaited peace across the entire Middle East.
“We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East,” Trump added.
Trump’s statement comes amid Israel’s ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip, which intensified following a series of Hamas attacks. The issue of freeing hostages taken during the assaults remains one of the major challenges for international diplomacy.
Trump’s peace plan
Earlier today, October 3, US President Donald Trump announced that he is giving Hamas militants a final chance to respond to his 20-point peace plan for the Gaza Strip.
He stated that he expects a reply by 6:00 p.m. on October 5 (1:00 a.m. on October 6 Kyiv time). The American leader warned that if Hamas refuses to follow his plan, hell will be unleashed on the militants.
