US President-elect Donald Trump is preparing over 100 executive orders for his first day in the White House. These will address border security, deportations, and a range of other political priorities, according to the Associated Press.

Donald Trump shared his plans during a private meeting with Republican senators on Capitol Hill. Many of the planned actions are expected to take effect on Inauguration Day, January 20, when he assumes the presidency.

At the same time, Trump’s senior advisor, Stephen Miller, briefed Republican senators on measures related to border security and immigration control, which are likely to be implemented in the near future.

“There will be a substantial number,” said Senator John Hoeven.

The presentation by Trump and his team was initially reported by Axios. According to the Associated Press (AP), Trump’s allies have prepared a comprehensive package of executive orders for him to quickly sign, covering a wide range of issues — from strengthening border control between the US and Mexico to energy development, hiring regulations, gender policies in schools, mandatory vaccinations, and other promises made during the election campaign.

What Trump and his team are planning is an unprecedented modern-day executive push, as the incoming White House leader prepares to wield power in untested ways, bypassing the legislative process of Congress. Some of these measures may be significant, while others could serve more as symbolic signals of the new administration’s direction.

Furthermore, senators briefed by Trump and his team during a lengthy session on Capitol Hill this week anticipate that the new administration will repeal many of President Joe Biden’s executive orders while simultaneously introducing its own initiatives.

Notably, the Financial Times reported yesterday that the European Union fears Trump might reverse Biden’s executive orders on sanctions against Russia after taking office.

According to three sources, senior European Commission officials have instructed a review of Biden’s orders to identify which reversals could have the greatest impact on the European bloc or undermine its own measures.
