Trump to make major Pentagon-related statement today

US President Donald Trump will make an "exciting" statement today, September 2, related to the US Department of Defense, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, according to Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich.
"The President will be making an exciting announcement related to the Department of Defense," Leavitt said, commenting on the upcoming event scheduled for 2:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. Kyiv time).
She did not disclose further details.
Trump's plans to rename the Pentagon
On August 26, US President Donald Trump stated that he would like to rename the Department of Defense into the Department of War. According to him, such a name would sound stronger.
He suggested that in the coming weeks a decision on renaming the Department of Defense could be made.
At the same time, on August 31, The Wall Street Journal, citing its own sources, wrote that the White House wants to rename the Department of Defense into the Department of War bypassing Congress.
The US Department of War existed until September 18, 1947. On that day, a law was signed that abolished the Department of War and created the US Department of Defense.
