Trump threatens Iran with powerful strike after attack on US base

US President Donald Trump reacted angrily to Iran's attack on American forces, warning Tehran that it would face a harsh response, according to journalist Eric Daugherty.
Trump watched footage of the attack, which showed US troops intercepting incoming missiles in real time.
Commenting on Iran's actions, the US president used blunt language.
"We are going to beat the f**king sh*t out of them," Trump said.
He also vowed to launch a powerful strike against Iran.
"We'll be hitting them hard. They're going to get a beating," the US president said.
Following Trump's remarks, investors rushed to buy oil contracts amid fears of further escalation in the Middle East. According to ICE Futures Europe data, Brent crude futures jumped more than 7% during the day, climbing above $90 per barrel.
Markets are concerned that any further escalation between the United States and Iran could disrupt oil supplies from the region, one of the world's most important energy-producing areas.
As previously reported, Iran launched ballistic missiles at a US military base in Jordan overnight on July 29.
According to CENTCOM, all incoming targets were intercepted. However, the strike marked the first Iranian attack since the pause in exchanges of strikes between the United States and Iran was announced last week.
