Trump says where his first foreign trip as US president could be
US President Donald Trump suggested where his first overseas trip might take place during his second presidential term. According to him, Saudi Arabia and the UK are on the agenda, reports CNN.
“It could be Saudi Arabia. Could be UK. Traditionally it’s been UK. But last time, I went to Saudi Arabia because they agreed to buy 450 billion dollars’ worth of United States merchandise. … If that offer were right, I’d do that again," Trump said to reporters aboard Air Force One.
He also announced that he intends to speak with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer within the next 24 hours, after which he praised his counterpart.
CNN reminded that Trump's first overseas stop as president in 2017 was Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of a ten-day tour of five Middle Eastern and European countries.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that on January 23, US President Donald Trump spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he expressed his desire to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as possible. He hoped that talks with the Kremlin leader would help end the war in Ukraine.
