US President Donald Trump reiterated that the BRICS countries face 100% tariffs. This will happen if the association creates its own currency, according to Trump's post on his social network Truth Social.

According to the President of the United States, the idea that the BRICS countries are trying to abandon the dollar while the United States stands by and watches is over.

"We are going to require a commitment from these seemingly hostile countries that they will neither create a new BRICS currency, nor back any other currency to replace the mighty US dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs," Trump wrote.

He also emphasized that there is no chance that the BRICS will replace the US dollar in international trade or anywhere else. For its part, any country that tries to do so should prepare for tariffs and say goodbye to America.

Trump's tariffs

Yesterday, US President Donald Trump said when he would introduce the promised 25 percent tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico. He said he will fulfill his threat tomorrow, Saturday, February 1. The President also explained the reasons for this decision.

"We’ll be announcing the tariffs on Canada and Mexico for a number of reasons. Number one is the people that have poured into our country so horribly and so much. Number two are the drugs, fentanyl, and everything else that have come into the country. Number three are the massive subsidies that we’re giving to Canada and to Mexico in the form of deficits," Trump said.

He also did not rule out that the level of duties could increase over time.
