Trump says someone other than Zelenskyy should negotiate peace for Ukraine

The US has once again raised the issue of peace talks to end Russia's war against Ukraine. However, it has stated that someone other than President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should lead the negotiations, US President Donald Trump said, according to Rapid Response 47.

Trump said that Zelenskyy should have settled "this war" long ago.
"If he had listened to me, he would have made a much better deal a long time ago, and a million people would still be alive..." the US president said.
He therefore believes that "it's time for somebody else to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine."
According to Trump, Zelenskyy is not doing much to help bring the war to an end.
"We’ve given a lot to Ukraine. They’ve given nothing to us. Remember that," Trump said.
The US president also added that he does not want people to die in Russia's war against Ukraine.
Trump previously stated that he believes Russia is "behaving quite normally" in the context of the war against Ukraine and the peace process.
In addition, Trump said he had postponed sanctions against Russia to avoid disrupting peace negotiations. He links the prolongation of the war to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
