Trump’s team tests job candidates on who won the 2020 election - Bloomberg

The team of US President Donald Trump is testing candidates for government positions with loyalty tests. One of the key questions is who won the 2020 election, reports Bloomberg.
According to Bloomberg, the White House is screening potential candidates for positions by testing their loyalty to Trump and his agenda for a second term.
Anonymous sources revealed some of the questions posed to candidates:
- Would you be willing to serve as a spokesperson for mass deportations?
- Which of Trump’s executive orders is your favorite?
- Who won the 2020 presidential election?
- Which Trump policy do you disagree with?
Candidates are also asked about their views on the events of January 6, 2021, when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the official certification of Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 election.
Some candidates for senior positions in federal agencies that require specialized expertise find these loyalty checks odd, as the questions relate to topics far removed from their future responsibilities.
Currently, open vacancies include assistant and deputy minister positions responsible for specific policy areas in government departments. There are also positions for staff members who will work with top officials.
The selection process is led by Republican political figure Sergio Gor, who currently heads the presidential personnel office. He previously worked with Republican Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky and, after Trump's first term, strengthened his ties with him and helped raise funds for his 2024 campaign.
Details of the White House's personnel policy were disclosed to Bloomberg by sources who wished to remain anonymous. They feared that revealing this information could harm their career prospects or lead to reprisals.
As approximately 4,000 political positions need to be filled, Trump’s aides are now searching for candidates who fully support his political course. Sources noted that while it is common for presidents to appoint like-minded individuals to leadership positions, the level of loyalty required by Trump’s administration goes beyond standard practice.
US job cuts
President Trump and American billionaire Elon Musk, who heads the Government Efficiency Department, have spent recent weeks attempting to reduce government spending in the administration.
Musk's Government Efficiency Department led efforts to shut down the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and also reduced the US Department of Education's budget by more than $900 million.
As part of this initiative, even the Pentagon announced the reduction of 5,400 workers.
