The US has stated that a complete ceasefire in Ukraine could occur within two weeks. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has announced an upcoming meeting.
Steve Witkoff expressed confidence that the possibility of a complete ceasefire in Ukraine could become a reality within the next two weeks.
According to him, peace can be achieved through ongoing negotiations with Russia.
"I think we can get to a full on ceasefire in Ukraine in a couple of weeks," he stated.
Witkoff noted that a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will likely occur.
Trump and Putin's conversation
The phone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on March 18 focused on the war in Ukraine, particularly the issue of a temporary ceasefire.
Following the negotiations, which lasted over an hour and a half, both the Kremlin and the White House issued a series of statements.
