US President Donald Trump’s plane, en route to the World Economic Forum in Davos, returned to the US due to a technical malfunction, according to CNN.

“Air Force One is returning to Joint Base Andrews due to a minor electrical issue, according to a White House official,” the outlet reported.

CNN added that Trump is still expected to travel to Davos, and plans to use a backup flight to reach the forum.

A little later, the outlet published another report stating that Air Force One had successfully landed, and Trump and his accompanying delegation would split into two smaller planes.

“Air Force One is expected to return to JBA around 11 p.m.,” the report said.

Davos forum

The World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, began on Monday, January 19, and will continue until January 23.

Around 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries are expected to attend, including a Ukrainian delegation represented at the highest level.

On January 20, it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not travel to Davos for now and remains in Kyiv due to the nighttime shelling of the capital.

He later publicly confirmed this and added that the Prosperity Plan and security guarantees are two very important documents, and that once they are ready, the meeting and trip will take place.

More details on the Davos forum can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
