An incident occurred in the skies over New York involving Air Force One, carrying US President Donald Trump, and a Spirit Airlines passenger plane, reports Bloomberg.

A dangerous close call was recorded between Air Force One and a Spirit Airlines Airbus A321. President Trump was on board the presidential aircraft at the time.

According to aviation authorities, both planes were crossing paths in the Long Island area when an air traffic controller noticed that their altitudes and flight paths were converging.

He contacted the Spirit Airlines pilots, demanding an immediate course change. At first, there was no response, prompting the controller to repeat the warning more firmly, ordering a 20-degree turn to the right.

After a few seconds of silence, the Spirit Airlines crew confirmed the course correction. The controller then, referencing Air Force One, remarked: I’m sure you can see who it is,” before telling the crew to pay attention and get off the iPad.

The close call occurred during Spirit Airlines flight 1300 from Fort Lauderdale to Boston. The planes were just a few miles apart - within acceptable safety limits - but the situation quickly drew attention on social media, where people were tracking the presidential flight in real-time. Users discussed not only the incident itself but also the sharp tone of the air traffic controller addressing the pilots.

Despite the attention, aviation authorities stressed there was no collision and that the safety of passengers and the US president was never compromised.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s allies continue to take every possible step to secure US President Donald Trump’s support and keep him on their side. Amid the ongoing war, they are employing the full range of diplomatic tools - even involving the King of the United Kingdom this week, underscoring the importance of personal contacts and symbolic gestures.

At the same time, Europe is striving to maintain Washington’s strategic backing but remains reluctant to impose harsh tariffs on China. Officials in Brussels fear Trump’s demands may be a trap aimed at justifying potential US inaction and reducing America’s responsibilities toward its allies.
