Trump’s Special Envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, condemned today’s Russian ballistic missile strike on Sumy, which killed and injured many civilians. He called the Palm Sunday attack "crosses any line of decency."

"Today's Palm Sunday attack by Russian forces on civilian targets in Sumy crosses any line of decency. There are scores of civilian dead and wounded," Kellogg wrote on X.

He added that, as a former military leader, he understands what deliberate strikes mean. And this, he stressed, is simply wrong.

"It is why President Trump is working hard to end this war," Kellogg concluded.

Russia's missile strike on Sumy

As reported earlier, on Palm Sunday, April 13, Russian forces struck Sumy with two ballistic missiles. The city center was hit. At the time of the strike, many people were on the streets, in cars, and using public transportation.

As of 3:35 PM Kyiv time, the number of injured had reached 99, including 11 children. The death toll rose to 32. Earlier reports had confirmed 31 dead.

The deadliest impact was on passengers in a trolleybus that happened to be near the epicenter of one of the blasts. Almost everyone on board was killed.

More details about the Russian strike on Sumy are available in RBC-Ukraine’s report.
