US President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 33%—the lowest figure of his current term, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
In early August, Trump's approval rating stood at 35%. At the same time, 64% of respondents said they disapprove of his performance.
One of the main reasons for the drop in support is Americans' concern over the US war with Iran.
About 80% of respondents believe that US involvement in the conflict will last a long time. Only 16% believe the war is likely to end within a few weeks.
Only 20% of those surveyed said the war with Iran was worth it. Among Republicans, about half share this view.
The conflict has also affected Americans' economic outlook. Fuel prices have risen due to the war, heightening households' concerns about the cost of living.
Against this backdrop, Democrats have gained an edge over Republicans on economic management and the cost of living. This could prove significant ahead of the US midterm elections in November.
At the same time, Republicans maintain a slight lead on immigration. Their policies in this area are supported by 40% of respondents, compared to 38% who favor the Democrats.
The gap has narrowed significantly compared to the beginning of 2025, when the Republicans' lead stood at 26 percentage points.
According to Reuters/Ipsos, Trump's current approval rating of 33% also matches his lowest level during his first presidential term, recorded in December 2017.
Last month, support among Americans for a war with Iran fell to one of the lowest levels since the conflict began.
