Trump reveals main reason behind Republicans' election defeat

The main cause behind the Republican Party's mid-term election defeat has finally been named by the White House, according to US President Donald Trump and US Vice President JD Vance.
Trump names the reason for the defeat
Trump noted that the war against Iran cost the Republicans losses in the midterm elections. He was answering a question regarding Vance’s statements, in which he blamed this very conflict for his party's defeat.
Trump said that it had led to a short-term rise in gasoline prices.
However, he noted that he would launch a war against Iran again because it was the only long-term solution, and added that Iran could not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
Trump also said that he had expected a larger rise in oil prices.
Vance on the Republicans’ defeat
Earlier, Vance listed four reasons why Republicans lost the US midterm elections. He linked the defeat primarily to the war against Iran, as well as voters’ dissatisfaction with the economic situation and Washington’s relations with Israel.
"The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night," Vance said.
Trump blamed Ukraine
Earlier, the US president repeatedly described the resumption of Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries as a "disgrace."
He claimed that Ukraine’s response to Russia’s aerial terror was what caused global oil prices to rise.
In early October, Trump claimed that Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, rather than his war in the Middle East, were responsible for rising diesel prices.
He added that without those strikes, the United States would not be facing problems with diesel fuel.
Trump has also repeatedly said that Ukraine should stop striking Russian infrastructure, claiming that these attacks were causing a global diesel shortage.
