The worst criminal illegal immigrants will be deported to a facility at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, where a new migrant detention center will be established, stated US President Donald Trump, according to The Hill.

Trump stated that on January 29, he would sign an executive order directing the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security to prepare a 30,000-capacity facility at Guantánamo. The site has previously held military prisoners and individuals involved in the 9/11 attacks.

"We have 30,000 beds in Guantánamo to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people," Trump emphasized.

According to him, some illegal migrants are so dangerous that the US does not want to send them back to their home countries, making Guantánamo their new holding facility.

Deportation of illegal immigrants

After Donald Trump's inauguration, the United States began a large-scale deportation of illegal immigrants.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt assured that Trump is preparing for “the largest mass deportation operation in American history".

According to her, the US will focus on violent criminals during the deportation.
