The agency notes that Trump is seeking large cash infusions for his re-election campaign.

According to a person who discussed this issue with Trump, the former president praised Musk to his allies and hopes to meet with the billionaire face-to-face soon.

Neither Musk nor Trump responded to the agency's request for comment.
