Trump may be first to arrive in Ukraine by plane - Zelenskyy

US President-elect Donald Trump may be the first leader to visit Ukraine by plane. This would be symbolic, said Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the interview with Lex Fridman, American computer scientist and podcaster.
“The war will end and President Trump may be the first leader to arrive by plane. It seems to me that this would be symbolic,” Zelenskyy said in a three-hour conversation.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine's airports have not been operating and no civilian or other flights have been carried out. The only exception is military aviation, whose pilots work to defend the country.
In late October 2024, Ukraine presented a map for opening its airspace under martial law.
Later in November, insurers determined that Ukraine could open an airport in Lviv in 2025. It may be the first airport in the country to resume air traffic since 2022.
