US President Donald Trump is beginning to show impatience regarding Russia's war against Ukraine, but in the right direction, Yle reports, citing Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

In particular, Stubb said that yesterday, Saturday, he had a lengthy phone conversation with Trump, and this morning he spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Zelenskyy is patient, while Trump is beginning to show impatience, but in the right direction, meaning toward Putin," Stubb concluded.

The President of Finland emphasized that although international diplomacy has recently been in its usual wave-like state, the situation for Ukraine has improved over the past two weeks.

Stubb also expressed hope that during tomorrow's conversation between Trump and Putin, the Russian dictator will not come up with some excuse to try to pressure the United States into lifting sanctions.
