US President Donald Trump warned Iran of the need to conclude a nuclear deal with the United States, otherwise it would face military strikes, Bloomberg reports.

According to Trump, Iran faces strikes "far worse" than last year’s attacks on its nuclear program.

The US President stated that he has sent a fleet of American ships to the region, led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln. Trump said the fleet is "ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary."

"Hopefully Iran will quickly 'come to the table' and negotiate a fair and equitable deal - no nuclear weapons - one that is good for all parties," the US leader emphasized.

US presence around Iran

As of Tuesday, January 27, the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, accompanied by three ships armed with Tomahawk missiles, entered the area of responsibility of the US Central Command.

In addition, the Pentagon has reinforced strike aviation and defenses by sending several additional F-15E fighter-bombers to the region and deploying Patriot and THAAD air defense systems to protect US bases. Long-range bombers on US territory have also been placed on heightened alert.

Amid the increased US military presence, Iran has been presented with a set of conditions for a deal, including the complete removal of enriched uranium and restrictions on its missile program.

US intelligence recently informed Donald Trump that the Iranian government is currently the weakest it has been since 1979. Against the backdrop of Tehran’s economic collapse, the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, with missile escorts, was sent to the region.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that at the end of 2025, large-scale anti-government protests erupted in Iran, triggered by the economic crisis and the collapse of the national currency.

As a result of the violent suppression of demonstrations by Iranian authorities over recent weeks, thousands of people have been killed. Donald Trump officially warned Tehran of readiness to take extremely harsh measures if the executions of protest participants continue.
