Ukraine has received full confirmation of US support for its air defense. US President Donald Trump has given the green light for the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Kyiv, according to Andrii Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Yermak notes that he could not disclose all the details of the negotiations. However, he said that the latest systems are the most effective, but there are long waiting lists for them.

"Figuratively speaking, there is a long queue, but we are trying to be as close to the delivery window as possible. The most important thing here is that Trump gave the green light, so the remaining issues are primarily technical," says the head of the Presidential Office.

According to him, the program for the procurement of American weapons through the PURL system, which 17 countries have already joined in Brussels, is also actively working.

"A strong public speech by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also facilitated this. As for additional weapons, there was neither a yes nor a no. By the way, the Tomahawks are far from the only thing that can be discussed. The dialogue continues, and I would not say that these doors are closed," the head of the Presidential Administration concluded.

On October 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump in Washington.

Among other things, they discussed issues related to supporting Ukraine's defense capabilities.

As a result, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would receive Patriot air defense systems every year and that a contract for the delivery of 25 such air defense systems was already being prepared.

However, the US has not yet given a clear answer regarding the transfer of Tomahawk long-range missiles to Kyiv, although it has assured that work in this direction is continuing.
