Federal law enforcement has failed to enforce the law in Oregon, and the situation in the city is turning into lawless chaos.

This was stated by US President Donald Trump, according to a post on Truth Social.

The president said that supporters of the far-left Antifa movement and radical left-wing anarchists were violently attacking federal law enforcement officers who are "protecting Federal Property, and enforcing Federal Immigration Laws and the Rule of Law."

According to Donald Trump, "we will never allow mobs to take over our streets, burn our cities, or destroy America."

He added that the National Guard had already been deployed "to restoring LAW AND ORDER, and ending the Chaos, Death, and Destruction."

"We are a Nation of LAW, and we will PREVAIL," the President stated.

Trump described the situation in Portland as an endless disaster, saying that many people had been seriously injured or killed. He remarked that the city was being run like a third-world country and that intervention was necessary, since, in his view, American patriots had no other choice and law and order had to prevail across the nation.

'Counterterrorism operation' in Portland

The city of Portland, Oregon, has seen mass protests over the use of excessive force by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The demonstrations erupted in response to the Trump administration’s hardline immigration policies.

On September 27, President Donald Trump ordered troops to be sent to Portland to combat what he called "domestic terrorists." He also authorized the use of all necessary force where required.

Trump has repeatedly blamed far-left movements, including Antifa, for political violence across the country.

Earlier, the president petitioned the Supreme Court to end birthright citizenship for children of immigrants born in the United States.

He also hinted that he plans to tighten anti-immigration policies in Chicago.
