Trump calls for closing USAID

US President Donald Trump believes that the US Agency for International Development (USAID) should be closed. He justifies this demand by claiming unprecedented levels of corruption, according to his post on Truth Social.
"USAID is driving the radical left crazy, and there is nothing they can do about it because the way in which the money has been spent, so much of it fraudulently, is totally unexplainable. The corruption is at levels rarely seen before. Close it down!" wrote Trump.
USAID suspends operations
After US President Donald Trump’s decision to freeze all non-military aid to other countries for 90 days, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) suspended its operations.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, almost all of USAID's staff were sent on leave.
Additionally, Donald Trump decided to appoint US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as the acting Administrator of the Agency.
Against the backdrop of USAID’s suspension, several important projects in Ukraine ceased to receive funding, including those related to veterans, border crossing points, and more.
According to Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine is currently negotiating with the EU for funding of such projects.
