Trump blames Iran for attack on Saudi Arabia's oil lifeline

Washington believes Iran is likely behind the attack on a Saudi oil pipeline that allows oil to be exported while bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, according to Reuters.
Trump made the statement on Saturday while speaking to reporters in Dublin. He was asked whether he believed Iran was responsible for the attack on an important oil pipeline.
"I think they are, probably they are," the US president replied.

The US leader also said that he spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman after the attack. Trump called him a "good friend."
At the same time, the US president spoke about contact with the Iranian-backed Houthi movement in Yemen. According to Trump, representatives of the group called his administration and made it clear that they did not want direct US involvement in the conflict.
"They would much prefer not having us involved, and they're letting most ships go through," Trump said.
He added that there is only one country that the Houthis are "not too happy" with and promised that the US would deal with the situation.
We remind you that the day before, drones attacked a key east-west oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia. The strike damaged pumping stations, and the pipeline's operations were temporarily suspended.
