Trevor Noah has been confirmed to host the 2024 Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 4th, marking his fourth consecutive year in this role. Notably, he is also a nominee for Best Comedy Album, making him one of the few hosts to be nominated in the same year, according to Billboard.

The 66th annual Grammy Awards will be produced by Fulwell 73 Productions and broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS. The event will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.

Noah, renowned for his tenure as the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, is also a producer for the Grammys. This year's nomination follows his first Grammy nod four years ago for his album "Son of Patricia." Noah's involvement with the Grammys began in the year following his initial nomination, with Alicia Keys hosting the year he was first nominated.

His continued presence as host and nominee places him in a unique position, historically held by only a few, including Kenny Rogers, who won a Grammy while hosting the show in 1980.

Leading the nominations is SZA with nine nods for her album "SOS," closely followed by Victoria Monét, Serban Ghenea, and Phoebe Bridgers with seven each. Notable nominees include Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, Boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift.

The event could see Swift potentially achieving a record fourth album of the year win with "Midnights." Additionally, "Barbie: The Soundtrack" stands out with 12 nominations, dominating the songs written for the visual media category.

Continuing trend

The choice of Trevor Noah as the host continues a trend established over the past three years, reflecting his popularity and successful tenure in this role. He announced that on his podcast "What Now? With Trevor Noah."

The Grammy Awards, known for recognizing outstanding achievements in the music industry, have increasingly highlighted diverse talents, with this year's top nominees predominantly being female artists. The event promises to showcase a blend of established and emerging musical talents across various genres.
