On Wednesday, July 16, a massive fire completely destroyed the main stage of Tomorrowland, just two days before the popular music festival was set to begin in Belgium, according to HLN and VRT NWS.

The main stage of the electronic music festival Tomorrowland, which was scheduled to begin on July 18 in the Belgian city of Boom, was destroyed by fire. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown.

At the same time, HLN sources report that the fire may have been caused by a mishap during a fireworks test. However, the outlet notes that neither festival organizers nor emergency services have confirmed this information so far.

VRT NWS reported that around 1,000 staff members were present at the festival site and were evacuated.

The Tomorrowland festival was scheduled to begin on Friday, July 18, with over 100,000 attendees expected. However, the event is now in jeopardy following the destruction of its main stage.

Held since 2005 in the city of Boom, Antwerp Province, Belgium, Tomorrowland has grown into one of the world's largest and most renowned music festivals over the past two decades.

In March, a fire broke out during a concert in North Macedonia, resulting in the deaths of at least 50 people. The tragedy occurred in a nightclub.
