Time Magazine chose Trump as Person of the Year 2024
Donald Trump is announced as Time Person of the Year, which is his second election for this title, according to BBC News.
On Wednesday, Time Magazine released its next edition with President-elect Donald Trump, which implies he is chosen as Time Person of the Year.
In 2014, President-elect Donald Trump was chosen to pose on Time's cover as their Person of the Year for the first time, following his victory in the US presidential election. Now, Time Magazine elected him for the second time.
Time Editor-in-Chief Sam Jacobs stated Trump deserves this title "for marshaling a comeback of historic proportions, for driving a once-in-a-generation political realignment, for reshaping the American presidency and altering America's role in the world".

Every year, the outlet selects ten individuals who appear to be the most prominent and oftentimes mentioned during a certain year. Later, the main chief editor of the magazine chooses the winner. This year, Trump was competing with such famous icons as Kamala Harris, Kate Middleton, and Elon Musk.
The Time Magazine established this tradition in 1927, awarding a "Man of The Year", which was claimed to be a title granted to the most influential person of the year. Previously, Time Magazine also awarded Greta Thunberg, Barack Obama, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy with this title.

Last year, Time Magazine chose Taylor Swift as their Person of the Year. This choice was criticized by Trump, who claimed her influence is overestimated.
