Three police officers killed in Russian airstrike on Sumy
Three police officers were killed in the Sumy region on February 1. They were hit by an airstrike from the occupiers while on duty, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
"On the night of January 31 to February 1, the enemy carried out an airstrike on the Yunakivka community," the statement reads.
As a result of the Russian attack, two patrol police officers were killed while on duty in the settlements of the community.
"Later, the body of another police officer was found under the rubble," the Regional Military Administration added.
Shelling of Sumy and the region
Russian forces continuously shell Sumy and the surrounding area. Both border areas and the regional center are under constant fire.
On February 1, it was reported that following the shelling of a residential building in Sumy on January 30, the death toll had risen to 10 people. The Russians targeted the regional center at night while people were asleep.
