This simple warm drink before bed guarantees good night’s sleep
If you’re struggling to fall asleep and often wake up during the night, there is a solution. A health expert has shared a simple warm drink recipe to help you relax.
Dr. Sabrina Bawa explains what exactly you should drink before bed to improve your sleep.
Sabrina Bawa recently shared her recipe for the perfect evening drink. The wellness expert suggests that a simple warm beverage can improve your sleep each night, and the recipe is quite easy to follow.
She recommends drinking some warm milk with cinnamon about 90 minutes before bed. According to her, this helps calm the mind and promotes relaxation.
To make this spiced milk, she uses one cup of plant-based milk, about a quarter to half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and half a teaspoon of ghee.
This mixture should be gently heated on low for a few minutes. Once warmed, take it off the heat and let it cool slightly.
Then, add a bit of honey on top for a touch of sweetness.
"So, if you can’t fall asleep at night, or if you wake up in the middle of the night and you can fall back to sleep, you have to try this one, as it will warm and ground your nervous system back to sleep," Sabrina explained.
Cinnamon acts as a natural muscle relaxant, aiding sleep. Additionally, warm milk internally heats the body, creating a sense of calm and comfort.
Moreover, milk contains tryptophan, an amino acid that promotes the production of serotonin and melatonin, both essential for regulating sleep.
