Ukrainian forces have delivered a new strike on a Russian command post in the Donetsk region. The command post was located in Novohrodivka, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Today (January 12, - ed.), the Armed Forces of Ukraine delivered another precision airstrike on the command post of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation, located in the city of Novohrodivka, Donetsk region," the report states.

According to the General Staff, this operation is a continuation of a series of fire strikes on the command posts of the occupation forces in the Donetsk direction.

"The Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrate a high level of coordination and professionalism in identifying and destroying key command and military infrastructure targets of the enemy," the military noted.

Where Novohrodivka is located

Novohrodivka is a city in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, and the administrative center of the Novohrodivka urban community. Until 2020, it was a city of regional subordination.

Economically and historically, it is closely linked to the city of Selydove due to the integration of nearby mining complexes. In September 2024, it was captured by the Russian army.

Recently, Ukrainian military forces have struck several Russian command posts in Donetsk region.

On January 10, the Defense Forces hit the command center of the 3rd Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces, located in Svitlodarsk, Donetsk region.

On January 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted the command post of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation. The occupiers had set it up in the captured city of Khartsyzk, Donetsk region.
