President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held meetings on the renewal of the Armed Forces and Defense Forces. Zelenskyy did not reveal the details of the meetings, but emphasized that they were "important" and announced further changes.

"Important meetings were held today. We continue updating the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine. The team is effective. There will be changes. More strength for Ukraine. More opportunities," the head of state wrote on his Telegram channel.

At the same time, in the photo released by the president, it can be seen that he met today with the new head of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the new chief of the General Staff Anatolii Barhylevych, as well as the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, the head of the SSU Vasyl Maliuk and several other military personnel.

In particular, in the photo, you can see Oleksandr Pavliuk, who may become the new commander of the Ground Forces. Also at the meeting with the president was the commander of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade, Vadym Sukharevskyi, who, according to rumors in the media, may lead the newly created Unmanned Systems Forces.

Reshuffles in the Armed Forces

On Thursday, the president dismissed Valerii Zaluzhnyi from the position of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and replaced him with Oleksandr Syrskyi, who previously headed the Ground Forces.

The changes also affected the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Thus, on February 9, Serhii Shaptala was dismissed from the post of Chief of the General Staff, and Anatolii Barhylevych was appointed in his place. Before that, Barhylevych held the post of commander of the Territorial Defense Forces.

According to RBC-Ukraine sources, these are not all appointments that can take place in the Armed Forces.
