The Matiukha Foundation supports first aid training for energy workers: the first sessions have taken place

In Kyiv and the region, the program “Protection of Ukrenergo repair workers” by FAST: First Aid and Special Training was launched. The first participants were 34 energy workers who completed a one-day course in providing first aid. For people who go to work every day during air raids and after shelling, such knowledge is critically important.
During the training, energy workers practiced applying tourniquets, stopping massive bleeding, and wound packing. They were also taught how to assess consciousness and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. After completing the session, participants received certificates confirming their readiness to act in case of danger.
The “Protection of Ukrenergo repair workers” project combines practical knowledge with the real needs of people who hold the energy frontline every day.
The program was supported by the Andrii Matiukha Foundation. Within the cooperation, 75 similar sessions are planned for repair crews and technical personnel of NEC “Ukrenergo”. In total, about 1,500 employees are expected to undergo the training.
The idea arose due to today’s real challenges. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the energy system has suffered more than 30 massive attacks. More than 63,000 infrastructure facilities have been damaged. At least 160 workers were killed, and more than 300 were injured. Some of the tragedies occurred directly during the work.

“Energy workers restore light to homes even after massive shelling. Our task is to give them knowledge that will help save lives before the ambulance arrives. In this profession, it is indispensable,” emphasized the founder of the foundation, Andrii Matiukha.
In 2025, the Andrii Matiukha Foundation, together with Good Donations, twice provided modern equipment to the urgent surgery department of “Okhmatdyt”. The organization also supported the art installation “Origami for Ukraine”, created to draw attention to raising funds for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers.
