The facade of the Kyiv History Museum will be adorned with the Origami for Ukraine installation until the end of summer. Thanks to the support of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation, it was placed there on April 9, 2025.

This artistic project, born from close cooperation between Ukraine and Belgium, aims to involve as many people as possible in a large-scale fundraising campaign for the Ukrainian military.

Five thousand mirror-paper birds have already become a symbol of hope, unity, and support. The author of the installation is the renowned Belgian artist and designer Charles Kaisin. Ukrainian children also took part in creating the origami figures, adding a special energy to the installation.

The Origami for Ukraine project received active support from the Andrii Matiukha Foundation, which continues to invest in cultural initiatives capable of transforming reality. According to the organizers, tens of thousands of people have already seen the installation, and media coverage has extended far beyond Ukraine.

“When art becomes a tool for aid, it begins to breathe with new meaning. Culture can not only inspire — it can save. And Origami for Ukraine is exactly about that. The foundation is fully committed to supporting such projects, which are extremely important in these difficult times,” says the founder of the foundation, Andrii Matiukha.

To date, more than €55,000 has been raised for medical equipment at one of Kyiv’s rehabilitation centers that treats wounded soldiers. The fundraising campaign is ongoing. Anyone can contribute by purchasing a shiny origami bird from the installation for just €10.
