President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanks Ukrainian defenders for destroying the Russian Su-24M bomber, according to the evening address of the head of the Ukrainian state.

The President reminds that the Su-24M belonging to the occupiers, which was shot down near Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, attempted to strike the Odesa region.

"Another minus one for the terrorists. And we will continue to "subtract" (annihilate metaphorically - Ed.) the terrorists. We are strengthening our air defense, particularly in the Odesa region. Gradually. Yet tangibly. I thank every country that helps," emphasizes Zelenskyy.

Destruction of the Su-24M

Today, December 5, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of the Russian Su-24M bomber.

The enemy's aircraft was shot down near Snake Island when it, covered by the Su-30SM fighter, attempted a missile and bomb strike on the southern part of the Odesa region.

In a statement to RBC-Ukraine, Navy spokesman Pletenchuk mentioned that the destroyed aircraft was laying mines to harm the grain corridor.
