The popular messenger Telegram continues to develop its platform, offering new features to users. New features are expected to appear in the app in the coming months.
Paid messages in groups
One of the most discussed changes will be the ability to send messages to special groups only for a fee. The owners of such groups will be able to set the cost of sending messages on their own, with the maximum amount being 10,000 "stars" - Telegram's internal currency.
This step may become a new way of monetizing for community administrators, but it remains to be seen how popular this model will be among users.
New fraud protection system
Another important innovation will be the display of extended information about unfamiliar contacts. Before starting a conversation, users will be able to see:
- The country of registration of the number
- Date of account registration in Telegram
- Common groups with this user
- Official profile verification.
This feature is aimed at combating fraud and will help users to be more conscious about communicating with strangers, reducing the risks associated with identity fraud.
Chromecast support for photos and videos
Telegram will also add support for Chromecast, which will allow users to cast photos and videos to large screens, such as TVs or other compatible devices. This feature will be useful for users who want to view content in a more convenient format without using third-party applications.
Using "stars" to purchase Premium
The new system of "stars" that can be earned, received, or won will get additional features. In the future, users will be able to use Stars to purchase a Telegram Premium subscription and withdraw them through the Fragment service. This should make Telegram's internal currency more functional and easy to use.
Visual changes and NFT backgrounds
Among the less significant updates is the ability to set a profile background with an image of an NFT gift. If such a gift is set as a status, it will also be displayed in the profile. In addition, users will be able to "pin" gifts to their profile, giving it a personalized touch.
Telegram continues to innovate, expanding the functionality of the messenger as a platform for communication, content monetization, and user protection. The updates are expected to become available in the coming months.
