Teenager with knife attacked children in England: Fatalities and injuries reported
Two children have died and nine others have been injured in a brutal knife attack on a children's dance workshop in the English city of Southport. Additionally, two adults who attempted to protect the children were also wounded, according to BBC reports.
Six of the injured children and two adults are in critical condition.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
The police have stated that the motive for the attack is unclear, but it is not being treated as terrorism-related.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have called the attack horrific and appalling, expressing their love, thoughts, and prayers to everyone affected.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer remarked, "I know the whole country is deeply shocked about what they’ve seen and what they’ve heard. I know I speak for everyone in the whole country in saying, our thoughts and condolences are with the victims, their families, their friends and the wider community and it’s almost impossible to imagine the grief that they’re going through, and the trauma that they’re going through."
