Teenage football sensation makes history, breaking record that stood for 95 years

Barcelona forward Lamin Yamal continues to set new standards in Spanish football. The 18-year-old winger has officially been recognized as the most prolific La Liga player under 19 years of age in a single season, according to Transfermarkt.es.
Historic achievement in La Liga
The “blaugrana” leader topped the list of the best scorers among juniors. After the latest match, Yamal already has 13 goals to his name.
In doing so, the young talent surpassed José Iraragorri’s record, set back in the 1929/30 season.
The previous record of 12 goals remained unbeaten for 95 years.
The new record was made possible thanks to Lamin’s spectacular performance in the 26th round of the Spanish championship.
In the match against Villarreal, the winger scored a hat-trick, allowing Barcelona to celebrate a confident 4-1 victory.
