Tavria front update: Equipment and near 400 Russians eliminated

In total, Russian troops carried out 25 air strikes in the Tavria direction, fought 25 combat engagements, and fired 937 artillery rounds.

The threat of the enemy using missile weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against military and civilian infrastructure remains high.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers steadfastly hold the line, inflicting significant losses on the invaders.

Thus, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 8 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Berdychiv, and Avdiivka and another 16 attacks in Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the past day. Ukrainian Armed Forces improved their tactical position southeast of Novobakhmutivka.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Maryinka and Shakhtarsk directions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. In the area of Verbove, our troops advanced, forcing the enemy to abandon some positions.

Russian losses

The total losses of the Russian army amounted to 386 occupiers and four surrendered.

Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 40 units of enemy military equipment, including:

• 3 armored personnel carriers;
• 6 artillery systems;
• 2 anti-tank missile systems;
• 1 hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher;
• 14 UAVS;
• 9 vehicles;
• 5 units of special equipment.

In addition, one Russian ammunition depot was destroyed.

Situation at the front

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 57 combat engagements occurred in the frontline over the last day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to expand their bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.

According to a report by the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian troops continue to fight fierce battles with the occupiers in several areas. In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold a bridgehead on the left bank of the Kherson region and repel Russian attacks in the Krynky area.

Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Wednesday morning, January 3, amounted to 680 occupants, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 361,500. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 36 UAVs and 73 missiles.
