Taurus missiles for Ukraine: Germany has not changed its mind on supply
The German government has not changed its stance on the transfer of long-range cruise missiles Taurus to Ukraine. Berlin states that it has different military assistance priorities, according to Tagesschau.
"The situation regarding the Taurus cruise missile has not changed," the publication quotes the official spokesperson of the German government.
According to her, Germany currently has different priorities for military assistance to Ukraine. Specifically, Berlin focuses on heavy artillery, armored vehicles, and anti-aircraft defense systems.
Taurus missiles for Ukraine
According to media reports, Ukraine requested long-range Taurus cruise missiles from Germany, which have a range of up to 500 kilometers. However, Germany rejected the request.
German media reported that Berlin might announce the transfer of Taurus soon. However, negotiations with the United States are ongoing.
Additionally, according to Spiegel, Olaf Scholz wants to make technical modifications to the missiles to prevent strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territory, but this does not concern the occupied Crimea.
Meanwhile, criticism of Scholz continues in the Bundestag over his refusal to provide long-range missiles to Ukraine.
