Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, commenting on the Russian-Ukrainian war, hinted that Russia could use nuclear weapons in the event of critical exhaustion on the front lines and in the rear, according to an Anadolu broadcast.

"When a war of attrition at the front turns into attrition in the rear, the question is no longer whether to lose the war, but whether you will continue to exist as a nation. You use the last resort you have," Fidan said.

He emphasized that if destruction reaches a critical level, Russia could resort to its last resort — a hint at nuclear weapons. According to the minister, Russian society is already demanding something similar.

"During my visit to Russia, it seemed that this issue could be raised, as there was talk that the public is demanding something of the sort. We have discussed this with Western partners, and they are aware of it as well. This is a dangerous situation. Everything that people say will not happen ultimately does happen," the Turkish foreign minister said.

In summary, he emphasized that the international community must intervene at all costs to stop the war, as it is spreading geographically and in its objectives and methods.

According to Fidan, Russia's war against Ukraine could escalate to an even higher level, so this situation must be avoided.
