Swedish Foreign Ministry at UN: Ukraine's territorial integrity must be foundation of peace
A just and lasting peace in Ukraine must be based on respect for territorial integrity. Otherwise, Russia will continue its intent to subjugate other countries, according to Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Stenergard during her speech at the UN General Assembly.
"The territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states must serve as a basis for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine. This was confirmed at the Peace Summit in Switzerland in June, which gathered some 100 delegations from all continents," the Swedish Foreign Minister stated.
Stenergard emphasized that if members of the Security Council allow the fruits of aggression to be reaped, the leadership of Russia will continue its efforts to bring other states under its control.
The diplomat added that Sweden's unwavering support for Ukraine's efforts to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity will continue for as long as necessary.
