On the night of September 9, drones were spotted over Stockholm's Arlanda Airport, causing at least five flights to be redirected, citing AIR Live.

Despite reports of at least four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various sizes, the decision to temporarily close the airport was made around 2:00 AM. At least five flights were rerouted to other airports.

Arlanda resumed operations at 3:30 AM local time, and the police have launched a preliminary investigation into the incident as sabotage and a breach of security law.

"We suspect this was a deliberate act, but I cannot answer the purpose. Due to the confidentiality of the investigation, we do not want to give information about what kind of drone was seen or by whom," said police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.

The Swedish Armed Forces reported they were aware of the incident and maintained contact with Arlanda.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that at the end of August, the Russian Federation claimed an attack on Kaluga Airport.
