Sweden pledges more than $150 million in military support for Ukraine

Sweden will allocate SEK 1.5 billion ($157 million) for military capabilities for Ukraine, which will include barrels for the Archer self-propelled artillery system (SAU) and beyond, according to the Swedish Defense Minister, Pål Jonson.
"The government has made the decision to allocate 1.5 billion SEK from support package 18 & 19 towards new military abilities for Ukraine. It consists of over 10 new Archer artillery barrels, long-range strike and underwater capabilities, as well as more logistical support," the minister said on X.
He added that Archer has demonstrated its effectiveness in Ukraine, and therefore, new artillery barrels are needed.
Sweden's support for Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Sweden has taken a clear position of support for Ukraine, changing its traditionally neutral approach. The country has actively joined the pan-European effort, providing both political and material assistance, including defense support.
Sweden also supports Ukraine in the humanitarian sphere, participates in reconstruction projects, assists refugees, and advocates for holding Russia accountable.
The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency Sida allocated UAH 590 million to strengthen Ukraine's cybersecurity.
