In Russia’s Moscow region, explosions caused by a drone attack that began overnight have continued into the morning. One of the cities hit by UAVs was Dubna, where a drone manufacturing facility was struck, according to the Russian outlet Astra and various channels.

On the morning of Wednesday, May 28, footage was published online showing the moment a drone struck the Kronstadt factory building.

According to Russian media, residents of Dubna in the Moscow region reported the strikes on this facility.

The Kronstadt factory specializes, among other things, in the development and production of drones.

The official website of the company states that it has "for over 15 years developed its own engineering and information technologies in the drone industry, which are in demand in both the Russian and global markets."

According to unconfirmed reports, the Kronstadt plant produces, among other things, the strike-reconnaissance drones Orion.

Russian media and channels also note that key drone manufacturing enterprises in the Moscow region were hit by drone strikes today.

Another drone developer targeted

Besides the strike on the Kronstadt plant in Dubna, earlier, the territory of the ELMA technopark in Zelenograd (one of Moscow’s districts) was also hit. A fire broke out there following an explosion. The Russian side claims that a car located on the site caught fire.

According to media reports, the ELMA enterprise is also involved in the production of unmanned systems. The technopark’s website states that it specializes in "manufacturing electronic products, producing control and measuring instruments, optical equipment, processing various materials, scientific research activities, information technology, and consumer goods production."

Explosions in Moscow and the Moscow region on May 28 due to drone attack

Last night, May 28, explosions were heard in several cities in the Moscow region due to air defense operations amid a drone attack. Local authorities reported the alleged shooting down of drones flying toward Moscow.

The operation of Moscow airports, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky, was suspended.

Explosions were reported, among others, in Podolsk, Troitsk, and Ramenskoye in the Moscow region.
