As a result of Russia’s ballistic missile strike on Sumy, dozens of people were killed. In addition, more than 100 were injured, with most of them currently hospitalized, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The head of state reported that recovery efforts are ongoing, with all necessary services involved in the rescue operations.

"68 of the injured are currently in medical facilities. Eight of them are in serious condition. Doctors are doing everything they can to save lives and preserve the health of the wounded," the statement said.

Zelenskyy also clarified that the Russian strike damaged 20 buildings, including a university, a café, shops, a district court, and apartment buildings.

"I thank everyone involved in helping people at the scene of the attack: emergency medical teams, the State Emergency Service, the National Police, municipal services, and volunteers. Those affected know where to turn for help, and thanks to you, they are receiving the assistance they need," the president concluded.
