Ukraine's Defense Intelligence has released the identity of a Russian war criminal involved in the missile strike on the Ohmatdyt National Specialized Children's Hospital in Kyiv.

Today, on the anniversary of the tragedy, the Ukrainian spy agency has identified Russian Armed Forces Major Denis Alekseyevich Sheynov - Head of the Special Engineering Service of the 121st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division.

This military unit was directly involved in preparing the terrorist attack on the medical facility, where 627 children were being treated at the time of the strike.

As the Head of the Special Engineering Service, Major Sheynov was responsible for organizing the technical preparation of air-launched Kh-101 cruise missiles used by Russia's strategic aviation.

Who is Denis Sheynov

Major Sheynov was born on January 30, 1978, in Saratov. Passport: Series 6302 No. 906672, issued on March 15, 2002, by the Kirov District Department of Internal Affairs in Saratov.

Sheynov is a graduate of the Saratov Higher Military Engineering Command School of the Missile Forces.

In 2018, Sheynov was in Syria, where he carried out so-called special missions.

He has been awarded the following medals: "For Military Valor" II Class (2000), "For Distinction in Military Service" I Class (2015), and "Participant in the Military Operation in Syria" (2019).

Details about the major's personal life are also known: Sheynov is married to Yelena Mikhailovna Shabalova, born April 30, 1976. They have a son and a daughter. The family's permanent residence is in Saratov, Batavina Street, building 12, apartment 266.

Missile strike on Ohmatdyt

On July 8, Russia carried out a massive missile strike on Ukraine. In particular, Russian terrorists attacked Kyiv, where the Ohmatdyt children's hospital was hit.

Due to the Russian attack, two people were killed, and 32 injured sought medical help. Eight children were hospitalized with injuries.

On July 9, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to begin reconstruction work on the Ohmatdyt building shortly. 100 million hryvnias (2,4 billion dollars) have been allocated for this purpose.
